All Star Predictions

It’s getting to be that time of year again… where we all enjoy a few days break and a chance to watch the annual Home Run Derby and All-Star game.  Our votes helped get Chase Utley, Roy Halladay and Ryan Howard get to the big game, but we still can’t wait to watch all of the players on July 13th.  The ballgirls put their minds together and predicted some winners for the All Star weekend in Anaheim.  Here we go!It’s getting to be that time of year again… where we all enjoy a few days break and a chance to watch the annual Home Run Derby and All-Star game.  Our votes helped get Chase Utley, Roy Halladay and Ryan Howard get to the big game, but we still can’t wait to watch all of the players on July 13th.  The ballgirls put their minds together and predicted some winners for the All Star weekend in Anaheim.  Here we go!

Perrin: I am always pulling for the National League to win the All Star Game, but unfortunately the outcome is usually not in the NL’s favor. I’m hoping good ol’ Cholly can avenge our loss from last year and pull out a win. Go National League!

Bonnie: I have to say the National League. It’s been 13 years since we’ve won, and with such great players in the lineup, this year’s got to be the year.

I also asked the ballgirls to make a prediction to who would be winning this years Home Run Derby.  We have selected Miguel Cabrera, but it’s a pretty close vote on this one.

Matt Holliday – 3
Corey Hart – 4
Miguel Cabrera – 5
David Ortiz – 2
Hanley Ramirez – 0
Vernon Wells – 0

Perrin: I’m not going to lie…the home run derby lineup is looking a little shabby this year. Of course I say that only because we have no hometown heroes on the roster. Despite the fact that Anaheim’s stadium has a higher wall in right field I’m going to predict that David Ortiz will win the derby. Ortiz has the strength and stamina to last each round and he definitely still knows how to hit the long ball.

Bonnie: I’m going with Ortiz on this one. He’s the most tenured Home Run Derby participant, and he’s having a great year. He’s a pro at the Derby at this point, so nerves probably won’t get to him as much. In all honesty, it’s anyone’s game, though!

Enjoy your weekends and watching the All-Star game!!  Let’s go National League!!
