"The Perfect Season"

Each year the Phillies release the video yearbook which tells the tale of baseball season.  Well this year could not have been a more "perfect" story.  On Thursday, December 11th, the Phillies hosted a premiere for the dvd release at the Ritz in Old City.  The heavy rains didn't stop the special guests from coming out to see it.  The special guests included Harry Kalas, Ryan Madson, Phanatic and the man of the hour, Video Dan Stephenson who wrote, directed and produced the video.  Of course the we were on hand as well to be some of the first few people to see the video...this is our "Critics Corner."

I absolutely love reliving the 2008 Season over and over again!  Watching the Phillies journey from Spring Taining all the way to Game 5 of the World Series is such an incredible experience.  It's especially fun to watch highlights from the games and to remember where I was sitting in the ballpark or even if I were working on the field for a particular game.  And I can't help but smile every time I watch Brad Lidge's final pitch and his drop to the ground when he screams, "We did it!"  I feel so fortunate to have been a part of such a memorable season.

The premier of "A Perfect Season" was a very emotional experience.  We got to relive the entire season that we were so much a part of.  I was on the field for a lot of the memorable plays that were shown in the video, so I'd seen them all up close, but seeing so many great plays one after another made me realize how much passion and motivation the players had to win, especially down the stretch.  My favorite part of the video was the last five minutes.  The song "Time of My Life" by David Cook was the backdrop for images of the parade, and the celebration on the night of Game 5.  It brought me back to the start of Game 5, when I was on the field for Green Team, and they played that song right before the players took the field.  Because that was on the of the best nights of my life, I immediately associate that song with the Phillies winning the world series, and with my experience being a ballgirl, because this truly is the "time of my life."

We had the privilege of attending the premier and walking the red carpet. Despite the torrential rains it was a very nice night. Everyone gathered together at the Ritz theater in center city and shared in the memories from the perfect season. It was really nice to be able to look at all the events that took place throughout the year and remember where you were that day and how much fun we had throughout the year. I constantly found myself saying "I remember that game" or "I was on the field that game" or "That was my favorite game all season". It's awesome to be able to have a DVD like that and be able to show it from years to come to family and friends and relive the amazing season that we had in 2008.

I was really excited to attend the DVD premier. I couldn't wait to see how Video Dan captured the season. The DVD was amazing! It really showed how special our team was and how great our team played. My favorite part of the DVD was at the end when David Cook sang "Time of My Life" along with a picture slideshow of the season. It gave me Goosebumps!! There was a good crowd at the premier. The Phanatic made a showing, front office personnel, players, announcers, ballgirls and of course our amazing fans. It was a really great night at the Ritz!

I am happy that I attended the Perfect Season Premiere.  What an excellent recap of our magical or 'perfect' season.  I can look at Brad Lidge's final pitch over and over!  Quite a bit of the recap DVD master produced by our very own 'VIDEO DAN' gave me Goosebumps and yes...brought the occasional sniffle!  This is the PERFECT gift for the holidays!  I have a few ultimate Phillies Phans on my shopping list that will be receiving a copy!  I hope to be at the premiere for next years recap DVD 'THE PERFECT REPEAT'

I was so excited for the Premier of "The Perfect Season," I mean who wouldn't want to relive the 2008 season through the brilliant eyes of video Dan Stevenson? He's there, up close and personal, to catch all the most memorable times through out the year, things most fans don't normally get to see or even hear about! To make the night seem even more like we we're back at CBP during the world series, the cold rain joined in the fun....reminding us all how much about the fall classic we'll remember, even the rain! The video was just awesome, I must admit...there were a few times my eyes swelled up with tears, not because I was sad but because of the unforgettable moments that truly describe the Phillies and their Perfect Season. Congratulations Video Dan, this one surely deserves an Emmy!!!

Thursday night's premier of The Perfect Season was... well.... PERFECT!  I have been patiently awaiting Video Dan's DVD since before the season even ended and he did not disappoint!  The video is a MUST-SEE for all phans.  The premier was great to be a part of especially since I got to hold the World Series Trophy.  That was one of those "pinch me" moments which I will never forget!

The Perfect Season DVD Premier was great. We were able to see our favorite announcers and some of our favorite players; past and present.
When we were finally able to view the DVD, I was so excited to see how Video Dan had captured the entire season. The DVD was awesome! It really did capture the magical season that was 2008. I went right out and got a copy as soon as I could!
